Every one of these reminds me of my first trip to Zih in 1969 when the streets were dirt and smelled of a combination of garlic, cooking oil and manure ... on the corner was the Licuado stand where we started every morning. They made them with fresh fruit, shaved ice and sugar and the trusty blender was their most prized possession. We sat on a little park bench type seat and waited while they made that delicious concoction, then walked off to La Ropa Beach to wait for them to bring in the clams and oysters that we ate with Bufalo sauce. Wow! Dem were de daze!
